Owners unfriendly, food average
by CSMobileUser
I have been going to Harry's on and off for 14 years and the owners have not acknowleged me once. The food is average and very high fat but the deserts are usually worth the visit
Bland, Disappointing
by mrskatfish
BLAND, disappointing, This is our third time trying Harry's, strike 3 your out! Breakfast was very bland, Ham special was actually seasoned well, but I felt like I was eating beef jerkey. Breakfast potatoes nice portion no seasoning. Service was actually good this time and the manager was receptive to my feedback on the ham. Oh yeah, need to try a new coffee blend.....one word YUCK!
- Pros: Easy to get to
- Cons: Unseasoned food
What a friendly place!
by OprahD
My wife and I stopped there on Sunday and enjoyed a wonderful New Mexican lunch but most of all I enjoyed the the tangy, not too sweet margaritas that "taste like you're drinking something" and the friendly bar maid and bar customers. What a friendly place! It's my favorite place to stop when I'm in that part of santa Fe.
- Pros: food, service, friendly staff
- Cons: parking is tough
Attitude adjustment needed
by ptsfer
This is an average restaurant with an owner who can be rude.....not a good idea, Harry.
I'm a local who ends up here to meet friends on this end of town when I can't persuade them elsewhere.
I think we're all willing to "eat average" but if the staff and owner are indifferent, that's a problem.
Saturday lunch met all our expectations
by AgainBecky
My husband and I had an excellent lunch at Harry's, June 14th, 2008. We were thoroughly pleased with Harry's. This was my second visit and my husband's first. I had the vegetarian special, which included tomatoes (eeek!) but our great waitress carefully explained their origin and assured us they were not part of the scare.
We enjoyed being seating outside on the back porch, where we had a good view of the delightful patio. Our chatty waitress was attentive and dependable. She must be a favorite, since we heard a couple ask for her as they were seated.
The staff works quickly and efficiently. The food and service met our expectations. We tipped over 20% and were happy to do so.
Harry's daily specials on soup, salad and entrees make the menu even more interesting and there are plenty of unique offerings. The beer list is not too long and is good, including some Mexican choices, which goes over great with my crowd! We will return to Harry's and recommend it without hesitation.
The Great American Neighborhood Restaurant
by EldoradoJohn
This isn't the place to go for a gourmet meal, unless you're talking desserts. It's the place to meet friends, have good, hearty food, and enjoy the wait staff. Regulars are cherished, and get more love from the staff when Harry's is their Cheers Bar, but I've almost always found the service to be pleasant, and often friendly, and almost always competent. I've eaten at Harry's off and on for 7 years. You can sit at the counter, like a diner, in the bar (which is a full bar: beer, wine, hard stuff) on stools or at the bar, or in one of the three dining rooms or even outdoors when the weather is nice. Some folks may have had a single bad experience at Harry's and written a scathing review here in revenge. Pfooey: every waiter, every restaurant, will fumble now and then. The line is long during tourist season, but the rest of the year, when there's a line, it's often a good time to meet and chat with strangers. And on Harry's worst day, it's worth coping with some temporary snarliness to get to his wife, Peyton's, pies and other desserts.
Bottom line: if you're looking to put a notch on your Michelin dining belt, there are many better places in Santa Fe to get that done. But if you're looking for dependably good food from a diverse menu, atmosphere, and service and a place for enjoying the company of friends and strangers, Harry's is the Great American Neighborhood Party in a restaurant.
- Pros: food, service, atmosphere
- Cons: sometimes long lines
Below Average

The busy parking lot made us hopeful, but once inside the food and the service were both disappointing. All of the dishes were bland.
- Cons: Bland food, poor service
Long Wait, Poor Service, Cold Food and a Rude Owner
by lindajackson
We are locals and have gone to Harry's many times but everytime we go the wait is longer and the last time we went the food was cold and Harry was in a bad mood and was rude to everyone. Not going back.
- Pros: If you live in Eldorado it is close
- Cons: The owner needs to improve his attiude towards his customers. He is just rude.
Harry's Road house - don't miss this one
by micheleelys
It's always great to be remember - greeted by even busy wait staff. From the special veggie salads - to incredible salmon plates, coconut curry carrot soup (that I could not get enough of) and finally, special consideration to my dog, the Sade burger; always done the way she loves to snarf it up. Love the funky ambience, the garden and the wait staff, even though in a Harried frenzie, remember what I love. To top it all off, the fabulous deserts and when I thought they could not be topped, she created the orgazmic peanut butter chocolate pie. OMG It took 5 months to relocate and now we live here and Harry's is always the meeting place that is familar, a good take out or just to sit with friends - dogs and chat about our horses and eat great food. Very creative Thank you!! RELOCATE and glad
- Pros: wait staff, food & deserts!!
- Cons: Bucky
Great Food, nice outdoor garden
by jlafla
We have eaten here at least a half a dozen times and the food has always been excellent. There is usually a wait and they do not take reservations but the food is great and very reasonably priced. Do not wast your time going to Bobcat Bites down the road where we recently had to wait an hour and a half.
- Pros: Excellent food
- Cons: wait for a table except off peak times
