Inn of the Governors Hotel is Great!!!

by SRetep

The hospitality and service was awesome. The rooms had a truly Southwest decor and the central location was unbeatable. The copper patina wind driven mobiles around the property are really pretty. Everything in beautiful central Santa Fe was within easy walking distance. the Railrunner Santa Fe service from ABQ is nearby, so a rentacar is not necessary for a short stay. The room includes a bountiful and tasty breakfast buffet as well as an afternoon tea and sherry social. Housekeeping was immaculate and Ken and Armando at the front desk recommended an excellent and relatively low priced nearby local New Mexican fare restaurant , Casa Chimayo; which had music, flamenco and decent food. I spoke for a moment with the GM, Sam, whose friendliness and customer service attitude appears to pervade the entire staff. My wife and I enjoyed our too brief 3 night midwinter stay completely.

This hotel was an excellent choice.

Don't Do It!

by FM

Wow! The web site for this place is very deceiving. Here is what they left out of the lovely, poolside views on their web site: screaming children running past your room - which is constructed with thin walls, crowded pool with limited chairs, restrooms with no fan, 1970's style throughout. I could go on and on but I won't waste our time the way my money was wasted at this place. Move on and pick another hotel.

  • Pros: Good breakfast, Near the Plaza
  • Cons: Bad deal for the $, Crowded, Inconsiderate staff

High Price Low Value

Okay, at $250/night we had folgers coffee in the room, squishy mattresses... I've stayed at motel 6's that were better than this! The rooms are small, the air vents were dirty, and the walls are paper thin. Just to give you an idea of how loud things are they provide earplugs in the room welcome basket. If you're looking at getting a good value for the money stay at the Inn at Loretto... much better service and a beautiful hotel!!!

  • Pros: breakfast
  • Cons: too expensive, poor quality rooms, unaccomodating staff
