Great Experience
by rv traveler
This was a small clean market with an amazing selection of beads, jewelry, baskets, ristras, spices, metal art, clothing and many other unique items. The vendors were very nice and helpful . They were happy to tell you about their wares and they were receptive to bargaining. We found this place by accident but I will definately shop here again when I return to New Mexico.
- Pros: best selection of western arts and crafts
- Cons: none
And still a great market!
by RedMuleRider
After visiting several flea markets in several states over the years, this market still carries a great assortment of old west items, beads, hides, etc. I do agree with other posters that the market has somewhat declined, but yet still has a certain charm that I've only seen at this flea market. It also does not have the "all junk" vendors that you find in other markets.
- Pros: Great Old West collections, assortment of beads
- Cons: can't think of any
Waste of time
by Lucille1953
Whether you're a merchant or a visitor, don't waste your time. The market isn't what it used to be. Visit the farmers market instead.
- Pros: Can't really think of any.
- Cons: Unpleasant hosts, bad food, sickening toilet facilities.
What a disappointment!
by MaryMary358
I visited the Tesuque Flea Market a few years ago, and all I can say now is "What a difference!" The place was the primary reason for my visits to Santa Fe, along with the art festivals, but visiting Tesuque now is like visiting a ghost town. When I discussed my disappointment with some of the vendors, I learned that, along with the high cost of gas, the Flea Market owners raised the rent prices unreasonably, while all along not caring about improving the facilities of the place. These are shabby stalls for the most part, with the exception of a few where the vendors themselves spent their own money to improve. I would like for the City of Santa Fe to step in and provide management expertise that returns the Tesuque Market to where it used to be; until then, I see no point in returning to visit.
- Pros: Inexpensive merchandise
- Cons: Disorganization, shanty-town look, awful food facilities
Hone your bargaining skills at this sprawling flea market packed with an eclectic mix of treasures.

The Scene
Located just a few miles north of the city, this sprawling, bazaar-like market consists of hundreds of covered stalls spread out over 12 acres owned by the Tesuque Pueblo. The goods are an eclectic mix, including turquoise and silver jewelry, beads, furniture, spices, Native American blankets, baskets, art, photography, vintage Western wear and much more. When you need a break from browsing, there's a concession stand and sitting area near the entrance.
The Experience
While the endless array of goods are a huge draw, half the fun is bargaining and simply chatting with merchants who come from all walks of life. Most prices are considerably lower than you'll find at the Plaza and haggling is expected. Merchants are just as eager to share their stories as sell you something, and you're likely to pick up a few interesting tales along with your bargains.
- Pros: VarietyPricesMerchants
- Cons: Closed part of the year
