Santa Fe >Food & Dining > Bert's La Taqueria
Lovely Mexican restaurant, wonderful dinner, charming staff. Attractive restaurant in a fine historic building, Cuisine is Mexican, with innovative touches by the award-winning chef. My wife and I were attended to by a charming and attentive waiter, We've eaten there for lunch and last night for dinner. The owner/chef took the time to drop by twice to ask how we were enjoying our meal, as we saw that he did with the other tables of diners. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, as we did. The food was excellent, ranging from the very familiar (try the tacos with lamb - delicious) to his signature dishes (my wife had the chicken with mole and it was wonderful - had some leftovers which we ate for breakfast - wow!). We are aware that the restaurant in other forms and locations has been a Santa Fe local favorite for years. We highly recommend trying it out!
Disgusting atmosphere! DIRTY walls, tables, windowsills, things that you would think don't matter at night until you see them at daylight. Food is actually decent, and the "server" was good; (only one guy and the Cook was serving the tables) so when more than 3 people actually walked in, my husband was screaming our drink orders to his back because he was in such a hurry.
Don't know what else to say. The yellow/purple walls and grinning skeletons hung it up for me. Yuk.
