Elegant lodgings inspired by ancient pueblos.. The Scene
This hotel attracts an upscale clientele that knows there's more to Southwest artistry than silver and turquoise belt buckles. Massive timber beams frame the front door and offer a hearty welcome. The interior draws the beauty of the desert indoors, with cactus in large pots and decor that represents the state's Native American, Hispanic and Anglo roots. The hotel is particularly busy from July through October, when numerous events draw visitors to town--the Opera in July, the Chili Festival in September and the Hot Air Balloon Festival in October are just a few.

Log beam ceilings and lots of natural light are just a few of the highlights in the 59 guest rooms. Their style embraces the best of the Southwest and feature thoughtful touches such as hand-hewn furnishings and organic bath amenities that smell of cedar. Accommodations are also equipped with modern amenities such as TVs and VCRs. While the hotel stays true to tradition, the restaurant has a hipper feel, which is no doubt one of the reasons it's so popular with locals. Meeting spaces of various sizes include the Wine Cellar and richly furnished Library. Massage and aromatherapy treatments are available.

4 star service and location. World class service, beautiful facility, excellent staff make this the choice when budget is not a question. Great concierge, valet parking (you'll need it) and excellent but expensive dining onsite.

Charming bar with the margaritas voted best by local Santa Feans.
