Angelique-Great waitress. The food was awesome! Great portions, and HOMEMADE bread! There is a new waitress named ANGELIQUE who was extremely prompt with my order, very alert and full of energy. My experiences with the wait staff haven't been as pleasant in previous dining experiences, so I will be sure to request this young lady for future service.

Vinegary Food and a Rude, Avaricious, Unhelpful owner. Last time I ate at the Guadalupe Cafe, I received a dish that tasted like vinegar, and when brought to the owner's attention, instead of tasting my barely touched meal or believing me, she had the kitchen make one up for her. It, of course, was fine, so she refused to make another meal for me or refund me. I didn't eat it and still payed.

As a local, once young, I have always felt hurried and unwelcome, treated bitterly by the owner and sometimes, the staff. Perhaps it is better for tourists over 35 and look as if they have money. For me, it isn't worth the stress, the VERY LONG WAIT and the uncertainty. I haven't been back since.

Deal with the Service...the food is Great. So, the wait for a table can be long. The waiter may be annoyed that you are sitting at a table, but the food is soooo good. The green chile is amazing; it's a good thing they don't let people get chile on the side, as the chile makes the food top notch. The salads are incredible (and enormous...you will have enough for lunch the next day). The prices are quite reasonable for Santa Fe which makes this place even more appealing.

BAD BAD BAD. I continue to give Guadalupe Cafe the benefit of the doube despite my instincts, and I continue to be let down and frusterated. Guadalupe has a very difficult time getting orders correct and an even more difficult time displaying anything that resembles customer service. Your waiter or waitress will invariably ignore you despite your repeated attempts to gain her attention, and when someone does finally pay attention to you you can be assured that they will not be happy to serve you. I gave them one last chance this last weekend hoping that they would prove me wrong, but that was not the case. I would not waste my time and money eating at Guadalupe.

BAD SERVICE. If you are looking for a customer friendly atmosphere then you definately don't want to eat here. The wait is always long, yvette the waitress (typically the only waitress serving the larger dining room) is absurdly rude, and it's not uncommon for the kitchen to screw up orders. I would not spend my money eating here if it were the last place left to eat at in santa fe.

Food is the only good thing about this restaurant. The food at Guadalupe Cafe is definately good, but the service lacks miserably. After an average 30-45 minute wait to be seated you can expect to be ignored by your server for at least another 15 minutes-asking every employee in the building to send your server to take your order doesn't help. Once you are acknowledged it typically is not by a pleasant employee, but rather by an employee who is so unconcerned at your irritation, and other patrons' irriatation, it is hard to enjoy your food. In most cases management responds with equivelant disinterest, and service continues to suffer. If it weren't for the food, I would not return to Guadalupe Cafe. I am a local and have not experienced service this poor anywhere else in Santa Fe.

Arguably the BEST Brunch in New Mexico!. You haven't had brunch until you've had it Santa Fe style at the Guadalupe Cafe. They offer the best local flavors like blue corn pancakes and, of course, creative use of green chile. I don't even like eggs benedict, but after my first try, I can't order anything but their rendition with mushrooms and green chile hollandaise. It's super-fantastic!

The service is casual, courteous and prompt...the atmosphere is cozy and very Santa Fe. If you're visiting the city, don't leave until you've been to the Guadalupe Cafe. (If you live here, prepare for a new addiction.)

Chili on the side? Why?. Excellent regional cuisine, no you can't get the sauce on the side, but why would you want to? This is Northern New Mexico at it's best. Plus, there are so many non-spicy options on both the brunch and lunch menus. This is a must eat destination in this great city.

Normally large crowds during lunch hour. Get there early or very late!. One of the best experiences I have had in a restaurant. Staff was polite. Food was extraordinary. If you could call it a complaint then the portions were to large. Stopped there for lunch before going to shop on Canyon Road. We had to have the leftovers packed up and since we were going on the road it they became our great dinner that evening when we stopped and got drinks at a fast food on the road.

Worst service, attitude ever. I eat out often and have to say that I had possibly the WORST experience at a restaurant ever at Guadalupe Cafe. I had the audacity to ask for either no green/red chile or for it to arrive on the side so that I could put on as much or as little as I wanted. I was told in no uncertain terms that customers were not allowed to do that. The waitress was incredibly rude and brusque. I felt like I'd landed in New York City and was dealing with the Soup Nazi. Did anyone there ever hear of the customer always being right?? Also, getting water was next to impossible. We asked the waitress 3 separate times and she ignored the request...finally we asked this tall, languid woman who was slinking around the restaurant (an employee) and she said that she wasn't allowed to get water.
