Excellent office!. Needing prescription lenses only recently, I didn't know what to expect of an optometrist or optical shop. I was very pleased in both respects! The entire staff was friendly, efficient, and Dr. Mark Botwin was great to work with. He understood my needs perfectly and worked with me to create the best prescriptions for my needs (reading, computer use, and distance). I highly recommend Dr. Botwin and his entire office.
Great Service!!!. I have repeatedly had horrible experiences with local optometrists here in NM so after hearing many great things about the Botwin’s I decided to make an appointment… WOW!! All around such a pleasing experience! The office is beautiful the staff was super helpful, professional, and so nice. Dr. Botwin junior was great, he was able to correct my prescription and now I don’t see blurry! The selection of glasses is incredible….didn’t know I could buy Cartier in NM!! I highly recommended Eyes and Optics.
Appalled by Previous Review.
I have been going to Dr. Botwin (senior) ever since I was a baby, and my parents have been dedicated patients even longer than that! I am now married with a little one of my own. I have nothing but kind and grateful words for the Botwin Eye Group. I have a hard prescription, and they provide me with the best care, ALWAYS! The staff is as sweet as can be, and the two Dr. Botwins nail the prescription of not only me and my family, but others I have referred in. At times it can be a bit busy due to the extreme demand from the wonderful patient care and vast knowledge in eye health, so waiting for a short while is a possibility. However, waiting in their gorgeous, new, high-tech palace of an office makes the wait enjoyable. I just bide my time watching the flat screen TV and learn about the ocean!
I couldn't believe anyone had such terrible things to say about the Botwin Eye Group. Perhaps the "bad costumer review" didn't explain their situation clearly to Dr. B and the receptionist, for if they knew what you just wrote, I have not a doubt in my mind they wouldn't make you pay a penny. The Botwins are fair and understanding family people. They are caring, responsible, extremely hard working doctors who give all their time and energy to provide the BEST eye care in the state of New Mexico, maybe even the United States. I would never go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Botwin for dedicating your life to your patients!
glasses and eyes. I have never had anything but great service in the many years I have been going to Dr. Botwin a particular case in point would be just last year when the sun glass clip ons for my glasses broke they replaced it free plus they got me a whole new set of glasses to boot I will stick with them for a long time to come.
Bad customer service. I went in for an appointment yesterday to get new contacts. After I left Dr. Botwin's office with my new trial version contacts in my eye, they started to itch a little. I figured it was because I needed to get used to the new type of lenses and prescription, so I didn't worry about it. Later that evening is started to become an annoyance, particularly in my left eye. I went to rinse it off with solution and inserted it back into my eye, with that came the most painful burning I have ever experienced! I ran into my bedroom in agony screaming in pain. My fiance rushed over and had to force my eye open to get the contact out. Once it was out I flushed my eye with water and felt the pain subside. BUT, Once I went to bed I started to feel a stabbing sensation, like something was in my eye. I spent the next few hours flushing it with water until I finally realized I need a doctor. At the emergency room I was diagnosed with a "Corneal Abrasion", a scratch on the clear layer that covers your eye. This morning I called Dr. Botwin's office and informed them of last nights happenings, "come in right away!" the girl at the desk replied. So I rushed down to the office, only to be told that I would have to pay (again) to visit the doctor. Having paid $350 the day before for the exam AND in advance for a follow up visit, I was none too pleased. I argued that I had already paid for a (contact lense) follow up and was assuming that I should be covered by that payment. Nope. They argued that this visit was for a "medical reason" not a "follow up" for the contacts. So, after arguing with the receptionist (who was very rude), I finally spoke with Dr. Botwin, who completely agreed that I would have to pay again for him to look at my eye. Don't think this is good customer service at all! The response should have been "I am SO sorry about that, I will take you back right away and take a look, no charge, since you were just here yesterday and paid us $350".
